Privacy Policy of the Annalog App for Android

This policy describes the privacy practices of the Annalog app (the “app”) for Android, distributed through the Google Play Store under the name Annalog. It covers only the Annalog app. For the website labsloft.com itself, see the Privacy Policy of labsloft.com. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at here, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

The Annalog app keeps your data on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your app data, we have no user accounts, and we do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. You can delete everything in the app at any time; because we hold no copy, no request to us is required.

What the App Stores, and Where

The Annalog app is a personal lab notebook. Everything you create with it — metrics, checklists, contacts, events, notes, recipes, voice memo recordings, and photos you scan or select — is stored on your Android device, in the app's private storage. The app has no user accounts and does not send your content to us or to any third party. Our systems never receive your app data.

• Metric, checklist, contact, event, note, and recipe entries are stored in a local database in the app's private storage on your device.
• Voice memo audio files are recorded to a private folder that is accessible only to the app.
• Photos used for text recognition (for example, business cards, checklists, or recipes) are processed on your device and stored in the app's private storage.

Permissions the App Uses

• Microphone: only when you start recording a voice memo. Recording is user-initiated and stops when you tap stop or leave the recording screen. If your screen turns off or you switch to another app while recording, the app shows a persistent “recording in progress” notification required by Android, and you can stop the recording at any time in the app.
• Camera: only when you tap a scan or photo action to take a picture.
• Photos: when you pick an existing image, the app uses the Android system photo picker (or the system document picker on older Android versions). The app does not request broad access to the photos and videos on your device.
• Notifications (Android 13 and newer): to show the recording-in-progress notification while a voice memo recording continues with the screen off.

Activities That Run on Your Device, Not Ours

Text recognition of scanned photos runs entirely on your device using Google ML Kit. When you tap Transcribe on a voice memo, transcription is performed by your Android device's built-in speech recognition service, which is provided and governed by the maker of your device or operating system, not by Labsloft. Voice memos are never uploaded by us.

Data Retention

We do not store or retain your user data on our servers; the app has no server-side storage at all. The app keeps your data on your device until you delete it. Your app data remains on your device across app updates. If Google device backup is enabled on your Android device, a copy of the app's data may be included in that backup according to your device settings; you can manage or delete those backups in your Google account settings. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data from your device.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data yourself at any time; because we hold no copy of your app data, you do not need our involvement to do so.

• Delete everything: in the app, go to More, then Data, then Delete All Data. This permanently erases every record in the current profile and removes all voice memo recordings the app has stored. This cannot be undone; export a backup first if you want one.
• Delete one item: delete the voice memo, contact, note, checklist item, event, recipe, or metric record inside the app; its saved file (for example a voice recording or scanned photo) is deleted with it.
• Uninstall: removing the app from your device deletes its local data.

We do not keep server-side copies of your app data, so there is no separate deletion request process; the in-app controls above are the complete and authoritative deletion mechanism. If you believe we have personal information about you from another source (for example, an email you sent us), do not hesitate to contact us and we will delete it.

Data Safety

• Data collected by Labsloft from the Annalog app: none (no accounts, no analytics, no advertising).
• Data shared with Labsloft or third parties by the app: none.
• Data leaves your device only when you choose (exports (CSV, VCF, database) that you share to a destination you select) and content the Android operating system places in your personal device backups, under your device settings.

Children's Privacy

The Annalog app does not address anyone under the age of 18 and should not be used by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from people under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

Security

Because app data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own security, such as app sandboxing, your device passcode, and encryption as configured by your operating system. We do not transmit your app data over the internet. But remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page with an updated effective date. If you choose to continue using the app after changes are published, you agree to the updated Privacy Policy.
